Diablo III

Posted in PimP Shit on February 3rd, 2012 by admin

I just received my invite to the open beta for Blizzard’s long awaited Diablo3 game. I must say that having played D2 and D2 Lord of Destruction that this game does not compare. The graphics and delays of this game have been plagued with issues. Not to mention the latency while playing the game is terrible. It looks like it was made for an atari and the cut scenes and lack luster environment are mind numbing boring. The interface is not polished or refined and the game can be delayed for another 5 years to fix.

Dell Precision 690

Decommissioned the old servers today.  They have been migrated and upgraded to new 64-bit architecture. New specs dual Xeon 5000 3.2ghz processors with 1.5TB raid 1 with 230GB raid 1 for backups. This should reduce energy costs of powering the previous two 1u Supermicro 32-bit servers.

ITCS2530 Homework and exams

Posted in Uncategorized on October 20th, 2010 by admin

I have just passed the halfway mark for the C++ coding class and have learned alot about functions, namespaces and selection structures and will be learning arrays very soon. First exam was 120 questions and 90minutes long. Class average was a 67%. One of the programs we had to code was a very well documented problem that coders have tackled PROBLEM18.jpg. I finished the program but received -15pts because of the formula used. Ch5_18r2.cpp

Cedar Point 2010

Posted in Uncategorized on September 7th, 2010 by admin

Went to Cedar Point over Labor day weekend. Stayed over night on the island at the resort called Sandcastle Suites. It was an enjoyable experience besides the ride Maverick breaking down every third car. That was my favorite ride this year along with the bruises on my shoulder it gives you from the excessive force in the turns. Top thrill dragster was a close second. Finally got a chance to ride this coaster after three years. First attempt to ride it was plagued by coaster failures. This time all those problems seem to have been fixed and it never broke down.

Bank of America

Signed up for another bank account today. This time checking out Bank of America. So the woman creating my account tells me I will have to wait untill later for online bank account access. Looks like the bigger you are the worse service you get. This has already been a bad experience. For being a large bank and not able to keep online access running seems like they are only looking at the bottom line and not for the customer. I could be wrong but we will see.
